15W induction charger to be built-in either above the worktop with integration of a decorative tempered glass plate, or under, the product is then invisible (matte black metal body).
The system is ensured by a removable ring equipped with springs allowing the assembly to be fixed on the work surface.
The driver is integrated into the module and can be deported plugged with a USB C cable, not included (see drawing below).

ELEKTRA establishes subsidiary in the USA

Light for the American market
ELEKTRA has now established a subsidiary in Wilmington, North Carolina, making its high-quality lighting systems available to customers in the USA. The company will thus be able to supply local furniture manufacturers and shopfitters with flexible, intelligent and sustainable lighting solutions.
With perfect timing in advance of the KBIS trade show in Las Vegas, ELEKTRA has decided to open a base in the USA. "We've been looking into the idea of directly serving our customers in America for a long time; the furniture manufacturers and shopfitters there have a great need for innovative, reliable lighting systems," says ELEKTRA's Managing Director Boris Niessing. The lighting experts from Enger therefore knew that it was time to serve this market on the spot through a local subsidiary. An advantage is that the American team has the know-how required for meeting country-specific requirements.
The team in Wilmington, North Carolina will serve manufacturers and distributors as of beginning 2024. Besides an office building, it has an external warehouse to facilitate fast deliveries. Additional distributors will help ELEKTRA to ensure reliable service. "We opted for Wilmington because the region is the home of many kitchen installers and shopfitters," says Niessing. "We want to serve this market and tap into its potential."

The importance of glue in the edgebanding

Edgebanding is an important process in the finishing of furniture panels.

It is not only a question of finishing but also serves to guarantee the important performance of the panel. Depending on the type of thermo-fusing used, there are considerable differences.

The characteristics of HMPUR hot melt adhesives

These adhesives have the particularity of creating a bond that is not only physical (like other hot melts) but also chemical.

The article acquires special physical characteristics:

- Heat resistance above 150°C
- Water resistance
- Resistance to steam
- Resistance to solvents

These performances are very important, especially when the panel is intended for furniture in particularly hot and humid environments. One example is kitchen furniture where, in addition to heat resistance, high water and steam resistance is required.

The German Kitchen Association AMK has created a test to evaluate the vapor resistance of kitchen doors. Only polyurethane-based hot-melt adhesives manage to pass it.

Another issue to consider is transport. Today, export is an important part of all companies in the furniture supply chain for both finished and semi-finished products.
In containers or storage at ports, or during transport in the warmer months, temperatures can be very high, so HMPUR adhesives are the safest adhesives during transport in heat and humidity.

The glue families used for edgebanding

We can now compare the performance of traditional non-reactive (EVA and PO base) and reactive (HMPUR) hot melt adhesives.
These are the three families of hot melt glues most commonly used in general in the furniture market and especially in edgebanding, i.e. the application of edges on the sides of the panel (2 or four)

Economic and aesthetic evaluations

HMPUR adhesives allow them to
- Be applied at lower application temperatures (120-150°C). As opposed to the 180-210°C required to apply EVA-based adhesives or 190-210°C of PO-based adhesives.
- Use smaller quantities of adhesive. We are talking about 90-130 g/m2 for HMPUR adhesives versus 150-300 g/m2 for EVA and PO base

Lower adhesive consumption also means lower costs for the purchase of glue while guaranteeing an aesthetically pleasing result due to the very thin adhesive line.
The best aesthetic result is guaranteed if the HMPUR adhesives are applied with an applicator roller with a low swell (knurling).

In this way, the adhesive line will become 'almost invisible' and will be less exposed to water and steam attack.

The GIOVANNI TRIVINI Milanoworkshops were born in 1960, embodying the vision of a great craftsman whose project spanned three generations, transforming itself into the current complex of Sant 'Angelo Lodigiano, a reality production with a capacity of over 50,000 wheels per day, accredited among the technological elite of the sector, with over 120 international patents filed.

For almost 60 years at OgTM we have been producing wheels for furniture and furnishing accessories. The search for beauty, functional and technological innovation, collaboration with the greatest Italian and international architects and designers have become a sort of obsession for us, not just our distinctive trait.

We love CHALLENGES and uncompromising QUALITY, personally managing all the construction phases of a wheel, from the project to the finished product and indeed, if necessary, we also develop and manufacture the equipment necessary for the production process.

We work all types of materials (plastic, rubber, metals) with any type of treatment and finish. We develop tailor-made projects starting from the drawing and we are able to customize lots with tailor-made "out of series" requests.
